After 20 years with Walt Disney World, I was looking for a new direction. I visited my first Go Fish Clothing & Jewelry store on a weekend trip to the beach. Our entire family enjoyed shopping there. When my wife, Paula, and I discovered "partnerships" were available in the Go Fish chain, we began to consider that Go Fish might be what God had in mind for us.
Several months later, while visiting Savannah, we happened upon a Go Fish store and met owner Terry Fleeman. As he told us about the Go Fish store concept, he truly showed a love and desire to be Christ to others. He prayed with us in the store that day, asking God to grant us wisdom and discernment. As we left the store that day we both felt that God was leading us somewhere new. We began praying together earnestly for God's will for our family’s future. God allowed us to visit several more stores, and our enthusiasm for both the mission and the opportunity of Go Fish grew as we met each owner and talked with employees.
From Curt and Chris, we soon learned that our first choice for a store location, historic downtown Greenville nestled in the foothills of South Carolina, was available. Door upon door opened, and it was clear God had called us to this adventure.
The opportunity to "be Christ" in a business environment is a new, exciting prospect. We look forward to being, as Curt says "a mission disguised as a business" in downtown Greenville. Our store is located on Main Street, directly across from the Reedy River and picturesque Falls Park (next door to Spill the Beans). We are excited to be part of the sensational West End, and hope that you will come visit us soon. We can’t wait to meet you!
